A rather amazing portrait...

{A portrait of me by the amazingly talented and lovely Caitlin from Hue and Hum

Last month, my blog friend Caitlin (who I first blogged about here featuring her amazing art) from Hue and Hum posted about accepting portrait orders and I jumped at the chance to have one of me with one of my cameras...

And here is the result. I just adore it. I love the yellow camera, all the stripes, the cute shoes and my usual outfit of a cardigan and jeans, woohoo!!

See more of Caitlin's portraits here, she is one seriously talented lady!!!

p.s. you might notice the original portrait that Caitlin has that I have an earring, I edited it out as I don't have my ears pierced... sorry Caitlin :)

Best of Etsy love 2009 Part 2

Today I am living up to my blog name and being incredibly easily distracted! I can’t stop looking at Etsy once I’m on there - I had to shut the internet off and write this in a document to stop myself from popping back to look at more diana camera plush toys (I love/want!).

I think my favourite part about December was getting to thank you with my Christmas giveaways and I was incredibly lucky that the etsy shops that I loved wanted to take part. It was so exciting to see how many people loved the things that I love too.

So again a massive thank you to the lovely ladies who were involved in my Christmas giveaways – here are a few of my favourites from their shops (apart from With Love who are closed for the time being)

Chico, Rocky and Bif 8x12 Vintage Camera Print and Flight 8x12 Print by Tina Crespo Photography.

Tina is currently having an amazing offer where you get a free 5x5 print with her 2010 calendar - if you haven’t got a calendar yet this is the perfect opportunity!

The best of Etsy love 2009 Part 1

Hello – sorry for the blog silence yesterday but I spent all day in bed sleeping off whatever was wrong with me . Thank you to everyone who left me such lovely comments, I am shockingly behind on catching up with other peoples blog but I promise I will try and get back to everyone over the next few days.

-------------------

The last 6 months of 2009 were extremely exciting for me and my blog and a lot of the giveaways and exciting adventures wouldn’t have been possible without some amazing etsy shops and supportive blogger friends!

So here’s a shout out to the amazing etsy ladies who were so supportive last year – I can’t wait for more etsy love in 2010. Yeay!

Studio M.M.E.
It feels like such a long time ago that Megan was my first big giveaway for 50 followers but I’m so glad that we found each other! As well as a mutual love for vintage cameras and photography Megan was also amazing enough to feature my photos and shop on her blog last year – something I still can’t quite believe considering the other amazing etsy shops she has featured before and since!

Here are a couple of my favourite prints from her shop, I’m lucky enough to have one the first Time Travellers print (It’s so amazing in person) but the next one is definitely on my etsy treats list!

Jana was incredibly generous to offer some of her jewelry for my 100 followers giveaway but it is her paintings that I have completely fallen in love with, especially her latest Mandori apples series.

I highly recommend that you check out the rest of her painting series
in her shop - you won’t regret it!

Eep, don't tell anyone but I am a little bit envious of the winner of my 150 follower giveaway from O’Reilly Ink as I am still completely smitten with Maggy's beautiful prints.

The prints above are still some of my favourites - I just love the bold beautiful colours contrasting against the solid black lines... happy sigh...

I will admit that I love love love Cassia's photography, especially her Lola's Room photography so I was incredibly excited when Cassia agreed to be part of my 200th follower giveaway!

I love the colours, the tone, the cameras, the shoes, everything!!

I'm so excited that Cassia is having a January sale at both of her shops (Both Cassia Beck Photography and Lola's Room Photography) as it gave me the perfect excuse to buy some of her gorgeous prints - I can not wait to hang them in our house!

Once again I would like to say a massive thank you to all the ladies above.

Look out for part 2 tomorrow :)

Just to say...

So I'm checking blogger on my phone whilst we were at a gig last night, trying not to be too obvious so that Boyfriend doesn't give me any dirty looks (I'm terrible, I know, sorry Boyfriend, I love you) and I see 100 followers!!

Being sly goes totally out of the window, I grab his arm, thrust my phone in his face and squeal 'oh my gosh! 100 followers!!' and Boyfriend in all his excitement says.... "didn't you only celebrate 50 like a week ago?"

Technically Boyfriend it was just over a month, so there! And yes I am as surprised as you are...

Anyway, thank you so much for following and reading my blog, I love having you all here and reading your lovely comments - I really wish that I had been much more prepared and had another giveaway to offer you as a massive thank you but I got so excited by the photo swap I didn't even think about it... I shall think of something*

So... a big hello to my latest followers: Check out all their great blogs!

Lavelle (the cutest blog!), AlphaButtonpusher, Erika, Kora Bruce (do you have a blog?), Anna, Milly, Courtney, Heather, Carly, Neonemulsion (best name ever!), Or-so-I-feel, Katrina and Jill

*Incidently if any one reading this is thinking they want to do a giveaway on my blog (how convient would that be?!) Drop me an email :)

Back from holiday...

Hello! So I'm back to the real world and mildly stressed out by Leeds buses already... we had such an amazing 10 days though, I almost wish that it wasn't over. I did enjoy sleeping in our bed last night and using our shower this morning however...

We haven't had time to sort through all the photos from the week yet (we took 3 camera's in the end) but I will start going through them straight away - I can't wait to share them with you :)
But, first a massive thank you to my guest bloggers - Paulina, Clara, Wendy, Chelsea, Fallon and Alissa - weren't their posts just amazing!! I could access my email occasionally on my phone in Wales (the O2 signal there is not great) and it was wonderful seeing all the comments that everyone left in response.

Also the biggest thank you to Simon (mentioned here) my sister's boyfriend who rescued the week by making sure that they all got posted. I have no idea what happened but on Sunday, half an hour before we had to leave to catch the train Blogger decided that it didn't want to schedule my posts so he made sure each one was posted on the correct day (phew).

Another thank you to the lovely Nicole at My Teacups in Peony who featured our love story and my parent's love story as part of her It's a love story project. If you haven't seen this project then pop over and have a look - its actually perfect!!

and finally a big hello to all my new followers - Lille Diane, Vania, Lauzc87, Aquaheart, Shokoofeh, **Nicole**, Kirsty, Pixel Wild Child, Kim Bohstedt, Mina (check out this blog, I love!), Lathaj01 and Britt_Martin16 - If anyone has a blog I haven't linked to please let me know! My reader is currently well over 1000+ but I will try and get a chance to read everyone's blog as soon as I can!
