Black and white horses...

My favourite part of the redscale photos is really, the contrast between the bright areas and the dark areas - and after I agonising over desaturating this photo, I ended up messing around/editing with them all... and I think I love the results just as much as the redscale photos!

I've been slowly adding some of the redscale and the black and white photos to my shop, so go check them out!!

p.s. I love taking photos of horses! Who knew...

A little update...

This is a bit of a non post really - I've been feeling a mixture of sick/bored/frustrated/exhausted these past couple of days and I haven't really known what to post... hence no post yesterday.

(Honestly, you wouldnt have wanted to read anything I wrote yesterday it was bad mood central over here)

Anyway to distract myself (I'm all about the distractions) I got the whim that I wanted to update my little blog - it took me ages to get it right but its been the same for a while and really my blog has changed alot - and you lot are all now here too - so it has to look its best right.

In the end I didn't change much - just changed a font, added new banners and made some pretty social buttons on the right - but I like it - so its all good. I think...

Of course now I need to update everything that has my old font...

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, chat a bit I guess and see what you all thought of the new changes. I'm off home this weekend to see my Mum, so hopefully I'll have exciting things to share next week and I'll definitely be feeling much happier as I'm planning on getting as many hugs from my parents and this little chap as I can, yeay!!

First roll fail...

I had no idea what to post today (I'm putting together future posts but totally forgot about day to day... oops) then I saw Elle's post about her first roll of film from her Diana Mini on Diana Mini Love - so I thought I would share my some of my shocking first photos from my diana mini and holga 135bc - you know - the ones that you wouldn't normally share...

I shared some of the most acceptable ones from my first diana mini roll around Cromer here - but here are some of the truly bad ones

The main issue I had with my diana first film was that really - I should have known better - I took 10 (maybe more...) films with my holga before I got my mini... at least with my holga I had a good excuse lol.

I posted the best photos from my holga first roll here and honestly, they were the only photos that I scanned in from that roll - none of the others seemed worth sharing - they were shocking. However I do have the index photo... try not to laugh too much, it is nearly two years ago now.

Redscale is all about the trees...

Happy birthday Mum

When I first started my blog none of my friends or family knew about it but now that they do, its so fun writing little posts for them.

Today is my Mum's birthday and unfortunately I can't be at home for her today but I will be there on Friday, yeay!! And I owe her the biggest hug!

Happy birthday Mum!!!

I hope you have a wonderful lunch with Dad, I can't wait to see you soon.

Around Kirkstall Abbey in Redscale...

I beginning to believe that Kirkstall Abbey was built with the sole purpose of being photographed, by me, with this film...



I don't think thats crazy... do you??

Though this film has broken my heart a little bit - I don't think it dried properly so some of the photos look wrinked... and about 8 of the photos didn't scan in the lab. Sad.

p.s. having a little break from camera posts... I'm not entirely sure how to break the 35mm ones down but I'll share more when I've figured it out :)

The Supercolor was/is my parents polaroid camera and the only one I've actually tried film in but I was disappointed with my impossible project film results (they look nothing like that now!) so I don't think I'll be trying the others out anytime soon which is a shame...

Camera Collection Part I: Kodak Cameras...

I'll admit... I have a soft spot for Kodak cameras.

My first digital was a Kodak thinking about it... and so was my first vintage camera. I can't pinpoint why exactly... they just look so lovely, so classic, like they haven't aged at all.

I have more kodak cameras than any other and I fully intend on getting more, specifically one (or all) of these! (gosh aren't they pretty?!)

None of my cameras are in perfect condition which honestly, I'm perfectly happy with. I love thinking about who may have used them, what caused the slight mark on the front, or where it was dropped to take a chunk out of it... I don't collect them seriously, I enjoy finding them in charity shops or for a great price on ebay and I have them where I can see them and enjoy them.

As I mentioned before, Thomas and I don't really do anything for valentines day... so this is my little gift for him - he doesnt really look on my blog or ever at Etsy, so he probably won't see it but I think it's a pretty perfect selection for him :)

I was inspired by Diana's treasury For Him... and it was probably the fastest treasury that I've put together yet. Maybe Thomas isn't so difficult to buy for...

Can you guess some of his favourite things from this? I tried to include lots...though I'm pretty sure he'd prefer a real cat to a print.

Superheadz Roll 2 - Looking up...

Remember our little photography date? Well these are some more of the photos that I took around Leeds.

I absolutely love the colours this camera produces! It captures the light so well!

I think I make a concious effort to look up more with this camera too as I know it loves the sky... I love how each of my cameras has its own quirks!

Redscale around Leeds...

The bottom photo is Thomas in the snow... looking towards Leeds City Centre, I'm completely in love with that photo!

I've been slowly adding my film photos from the last two years to my Flickr account (I went pro!) so you can now see the entire redscale film here - its a bit hit and miss but I'm still so happy with how my first roll turned out.

I highly recommend the Harry love collection on my flickr page too... just saying...

I've going to try replying to people comments in the comment box from now on - I'll admit defeat and say that time is against me when it comes to visiting peoples blogs as well as reading my favourites... and having a life... so if you left me a comment last friday, there should be a reply in the comment box! I already feel like I'm having conversations with people replying that way, yeay!
