Thing's I've learnt from blogs this week...

Hurray its Friday and I am super excited as I am getting my haircut tomorrow (its a mess!) then going out for Thai food, yum!!

Today...

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed - I have no idea why.

Maybe I had bad dreams?

Either way I can't seem to shake it off and my head is empty of happy posts (boo.)

So here's a mini list of things that are really ticking me off right now...

- Show off/attention seeking statuses on Facebook -

- Sugar free recipes that have loads of honey and sweeteners in -

- Half eaten muffins laying around the office -

- Ever changing train prices, what happened to the cheap fares?! -

- Late buses (a constant annoyance) -

- Other people sitting at my desk -

- A never ending list of things to do that just seems to get longer -

- The lid on my vaseline that always seems to be stuck -

-broken nails -

At least we're having Butternut squash risotto for dinner...

p.s. Oh and I really fancy a cookie - stupid healthy lifestyle!

Fond memories of snow...

Now that all the snow has gone and my feet are warm and dry, I find myself warmly remembering the snow, especially our walk together around Kirkstall Abbey.

It really looked lovely... totally worth the frozen feet!

p.s. I took these at the same time as the fuji instax photos, which just makes the fact they were so purple even more confusing (and fun).

Things I've learnt from blogs this week...

Yeay its Friday - I'm so glad this week has gone fast - I am more than ready for the weekend!

This week has been a bit odd for me - my moods are all over the place and just when I think I've figured myself out - I'm in another funk - I think it must the time of year for it... I can't wait for Spring, a bit of sunshine and lighter evenings! I'm hoping the weather stays nice enough for me to take some photos this weekend (and maybe even master my little fuji)- I think it will help...

I'm still wrestling in my head over polaroid film - I go to buy it and just before I hit check out I start to have second thoughts... these next few links are helping to sway me towards getting some sooner rather than later though...

Shades of Purple...

Just like the first heart picture, the rest of the fuji instax mini's that I took in the snow also came out with purple tones to them - I think that I love them though.

Also, I have finally started putting together all the photos - instead of making a post I decided to just do a whole blog! What do you think so far? I still have a number of peoples photos to put together on individual posts but I think its ready to share now :)

However, as happy as I am about all the photos that have been featured so far, I am still a little disappointed that out of the 64 that took part in the swap, only 25 sets of photos have been uploaded (that I am aware of, if I have missed you then please let me know)

I know that people have been incredibly busy moving house, doing exams, etc and I honestly don't want to harrass but I am going to be sending individual emails out so if you could just update me on your situation then that would be so helpful.

Happy 101 award

Firstly a massive (and mildly sheepish) thank you to everyone who left comments and tips on my last post... as soon as I hit publish and completely admitted to myself (and you) that I was struggling - everything didn't seem so bad and your comments were so uplifting and supportive.

Hidden amongst the comments was the Happy 101 award from the lovely Courtney at Just a Little Mishap. Thank you Courtney, this was just what I needed to cheer me up and to start this week on a positive note!

1. Seeing Boyfriend happy makes me happy! He started a new job today and when he rang me at lunch it sounded like it was going well - he deserves some good luck so yeay!

3. Homemade quorn cottage pie which was rather healthy looking until we put an unhealthy amount of cheese on top - and theres leftovers for sometime this week, yummmm!

Dearest blogging world...

You are amazing!

But sometimes I bite off more than I can chew.

Before Christmas I was completely overwhelmed with blogging - the constant 800+ in my reader despite how much I read, the huge number of comments that I hadn't replied too, the followers blogs that I hadn't looked at or commented on...

...and although I was energised and ready to sort this head on once I got back - being sick has once again left me totally overwhelmed and I honestly feel so stressed.

I want to reply to everyones comments, I want to look at all my followers blogs but these things take time and time is something that I seem to have less and less of.

So... I'm clearing out my reader, the blogs I follow and my head - too many blogs that I don't really read properly are taking away my time from the ones I love and taking time away from enjoying my own blog (and the photoswap, I haven't forgotten about it...) which really is why I'm here.

Being a good blogger is incredibly hard work and I want to be a great blogger - not a good blog skimmer and I want to enjoy blogging again. So bear with me for a while whilst I clear out all the cobwebs and hopefully my blog, my shop (which I have woefully abandoned for a while) and I will be ready to face 2010 properly!

Thank you again for being so patient with me, I am still amazed by all the lovely comments I get and amazing followers that I have :)

Best of Etsy love 2009 Part 2

Today I am living up to my blog name and being incredibly easily distracted! I can’t stop looking at Etsy once I’m on there - I had to shut the internet off and write this in a document to stop myself from popping back to look at more diana camera plush toys (I love/want!).

I think my favourite part about December was getting to thank you with my Christmas giveaways and I was incredibly lucky that the etsy shops that I loved wanted to take part. It was so exciting to see how many people loved the things that I love too.

Hello – sorry for the blog silence yesterday but I spent all day in bed sleeping off whatever was wrong with me . Thank you to everyone who left me such lovely comments, I am shockingly behind on catching up with other peoples blog but I promise I will try and get back to everyone over the next few days.

The last 6 months of 2009 were extremely exciting for me and my blog and a lot of the giveaways and exciting adventures wouldn’t have been possible without some amazing etsy shops and supportive blogger friends!

So here’s a shout out to the amazing etsy ladies who were so supportive last year – I can’t wait for more etsy love in 2010. Yeay!

It feels like such a long time ago that Megan was my first big giveaway for 50 followers but I’m so glad that we found each other! As well as a mutual love for vintage cameras and photography Megan was also amazing enough to feature my photos and shop on her blog last year – something I still can’t quite believe considering the other amazing etsy shops she has featured before and since!

Sorry for the lack of real post today, I've been asleep all day because I'm sick - I always sleep when I'm sick and end up being totally disorientated... anyway I hope to be back and running soon and I hope everyone had a more productive Monday than me!

Things I've learnt from blogs this week...

I've tried to start writing about 3 different posts today and each time I've just stared at the (seemingly bigger and bigger) white box with nothing... gah, how frustrating! I blame the freezing weather - my feet are permanently ice blocks, I have another cold coming on, my hair is a mess and I am so behind on my reader its a little bit scary...

I love love love Anna's blog ♥ Much Love ♥ and I knew as soon as I saw her ♥much love♥ monday project this week that I had to take a photo for it...

...so I put my heart in the snow and took a photo with my fuji instax mini - I'm so happy with how it turned out, especially as it is nothing like I expected - I have no idea why its got that purple tint to it but I think it looks perfect!

I can't wait to see everyone elses photos from this project!

Snooooow!

Over the past two days we have had 6 inches of snow - it looks so pretty!

I just wish I had more time to go play in it with different cameras!

New year... new adventures!!

Goodbye 2009!

The best thing about having my blog is being reminded of everything that we've done this year and how amazing it actually was!

This time last year I had no idea what 2009 was going to be like...

I had no idea of all the fun things we would do.

I had no idea I would fall in love with film photography and that I would end up owning a crazy amount of cameras!

I had no idea I would start my own photography shop.

I had no idea I would make friends with some incredibly wonderful people from all around the world - all of a sudden my little bubble doesn't seem so tiny anymore. (See my favourites!!)

I had no idea I would be sending postcards, photos, ornaments and presents to people I've never met and completely love it.

I had no idea I would be part of an amazing project that inspires me constantly

I had no idea that I would start a swap that would be so much fun!

I had no idea we would go to the beach so much! (yeay)

I had no idea I would take so many photos of our feet :)

and I had absolutely no idea that in a years time I would be so proud of myself, of us, of all of my friends and family and so grateful for everything and everyone in my life...

I am so excited and ready for 2010!
