An impromptu photoshoot...

Thomas and I rarely have our photo taken together, he hates it, I don't pester... (well, too much.)
So I was very excited when my sister and her husband (ha, so weird) gave me a CD with photos from February (at the barn and Heysham) with these on it!

12 for 2012 - Camera 4

As part of my 'take more photos' goal for this year - I decided that I wanted to use more of the cameras that I haven't actually used before in my collection.

Yes, I might have missed a camera in April... we'll ignore that :) I can do two next month perhaps?
Also, it's ok because this camera (and its results) are exciting!!!

340 Land

I've actually had this camera - a polaroid automatic 340 land camera - for a while now (perhaps a year, maybe more) and I'm now feeling like I've wasted the time that I've had with it as I love it so much already!

I've really struggled with polaroids in the past and I've never been able to find that micarulous balance with the Impossible Project film that others seem to find so beautifully. But finally I've found a polaroid that works for me and it works incredibly well!!

Apart from when I haven't checked that the battery is properly plugged in... oops. I was a little upset with this first picture but luckily, it was just the battery that was the problem and...

fuji 3000 2
Ta da! A photo is born!
{Please ignore our crazy long grass, annoyingly our landlord mowed it that afternoon after I'd taken this photo. I still love our garden though. And our washing line!}

fuji 3000 3

I'm so impressed with the focus on this camera - it has a rangefinder focus, which I've never used before but I loved. I also love the contrast that comes with the Fuji FB-3000B film, I was a little wary of the 3000 ISO but this film is blowing my mind! I've ordered some colour film too (I'm weak, I have a film problem) and I can't wait to see how those look when I use it now too.

fuji 3000 4

I even attempted a double exposure with this camera but I seriously underestimated how sunny it actually was at the weekend and it came out very overexposed, I am thrilled that it worked though and now I know what to do for next time...

The littlest member of our family...

One of my favourite parts of going home is always seeing Harry
(and stalking him with cameras, much to his annoyance, haha)

He had no idea what was really happening with the wedding, but he did look cute in his little bow tie for his photos the day before the wedding (we think the photographer may have taken more photos of him than anyone else!) and he enjoyed napping whilst we were all running around him trying not to forget anything. Dad even managed to mention him in his Father of the Bride speech too.

p.s. Thank you to everyone who commented on yesterdays post, I quickly showed it to the newlyweds before they jetted off on Honeymoon :)

My lickle sister got married!!

and I cried... a lot.
Isn't she beautiful? Gah I love them both so much and their wedding was definitely one of the best days of my life as well as theirs.

Hurray for love :)

Some photos from the Hen Party weekend...

I think I can deem my lickle sister's hen party weekend a sucess! We rented a house at the coast for the weekend, had an afternoon tea party followed by hen party games, food and drinks. I had so much fun and I'm pretty sure everyone else did too.

Can you believe that I took hardly any photos though - I took 4 cameras down with me and they all stayed in my bag - in fact half of these photos were borrowed from another hen (thanks Ellen!). I particularly love the photo of me, my sister and our Nanna at the bottom in our tissue dresses, so much fun!

p.s. The mug is a thank you gift from my bride sister :) she knows me well!

Lomokino love...

I'm completely in love with my Lomokino and the little home movies you can make with it - In fact my only sadness about the video from Mum's birthday weekend is that I didn't shoot more so it could have been longer.

The beginning of the video is shot in Morecambe and the rest is in a little village called Heysham just along the coast from Morecambe which I loved. Also, I like to make people wave in videos it seems, haha.

This past weekend I spent with my parents and I didn't really take any photos - sometimes that happens, I just want to remember it rather than capture it and it was a great weekend to remember most definitely.

p.s. Hi Nanna and Grandad, I hope you can watch this video on your laptop :) let me know if you can't! Lots of love x

Lake Windermere Part 3

Probably the best thing to come out of my LC-A having a little moment
(I'll be testing the new batteries this weekend, cross all your fingers and toes...)
is that it gave me some time to dedicate to my little Diana Mini.

I know I gush about my cameras a lot, but gosh I love my Diana Mini, can you believe I actually missed not using it over the last couple of months... I think I'm going to have to work to balance my cameras out a bit better.

Also, I love this little dog's face...and my parents matching coats... and that sneaky lens flare...
and that it's the weekend. Woo.

Have a good weekend!

Instax Mini's from the weekend...

This past weekend, I finally got to take out my little Fuji Instax Mini - I've been trying to be conservative with my mini's as they can be quite expensive (especially at the rate I take them, haha) but as this was a special occasion I thought it was the perfect time to use it.

For my Mum's second birthday weekend, we surprised her with a long weekend away at a glorious barn in Lancashire which was perfectly placed in the middle of nowhere, along an incredible windy road with the most perfect surrounding scenery and lots of sheep and lambs.

You can kind of make out the sheep and the barn in the first photo towards the right hand side, in the middle... just.

On Sunday we visited Morcambe - which wasn't really that great, other than the Eric Morcambe statue but the day was made much better by going 3 miles down the coast to Heysham, which was beautiful and so calm and relaxing.

We managed to take a crazy number of photos between us and I can't wait to share more of them, it really was a perfect family weekend of celebrating and relaxing! I want to go back already...

The weekend in phone photos...

This weekend was the first of two with my family and I loved every minute of it... and of course I took lots of photos of Harry too :)  I'm counting down the days until this weekend now!

p.s. This weekend was my little blogs 3rd birthday - time flies when you're having fun.
Thank you so much to everyone who's supported me in the last three years, you have no idea how much it means to me :) x

Sun, sand, sea and.... snow!

This weekend was our first long weekend of February and it was amazing!!

I adore the beach, even in the snow and though it was below freezing, Thomas and I enjoyed some lovely walks, lots of tea and coffee, some amazing food (including homemade chocolate pictured above!) and great company in Scarborough. Hurray!!

I can't wait for next weekend with all of our family now... it's going to be great.

p.s. I've finally found a panoramic app that I like for my phone too. It's all good!

Happy Birthday to my lickle Sis...

Happy birthday Mikela!!!

You complained that there wasn't enough photos of you, so here you are :)

I love you, even if you are taller than me now...

Have a wonderful day!

This photo cracks me up - I was obviously a confused witch or ghost...
and you can just see Mikela's face, hahaha.
We were cool.

Edit: Mikela insist's we are both still cool.
I think not quite as cool as this though :)

Unshared Scarborough photos...

I ended up triple checking my blog to make sure these weren't already on here as I couldn't believe I hadn't shared them before... I love Scarborough! Also everytime I look at photos from my yashica autofocus, it makes me wish I used it more...

Knaresborough - Capturing the details with my holga...

Since experimenting with expired film with my Ricoh (which I need to take out again) I've been dying to try it out in other cameras - last weekend was the perfect opportunity to try it with my wee Helga the Holga.

The fun of taking two cameras around with you all the time is trying to balance what to take photos of - it's easy to take the same picture twice but I think I've finally craked it - one to capture to details, one to capture the 'feel'... The redscale in my superheadz captured the feel of Knaresborough wonderfully and it left me free to capture the details of Knaresborough and to experiment with the focus a little more with my holga.

1
Photo04_0APhoto05_1APhoto06_2APhoto18_14A3Photo21_17APhoto28_24APhoto29_25APhoto24_20A2
I'm really beginning to enjoy capturing the details that perhaps others might not see - the beautiful letter box, the battered old signs, the lovely colours in the windows... they take my breath away. And I just love the cat...

Happy weekend!
I'm going to try not to take too many photos, I still have too many to share :)

p.s. G - did you see the name of the road in one of the pictures? You'll like it...

p.p.s. I just noticed that Harry snuck into the last photo, this makes me happy.
