Hello for the easily distracted readers!

I’m here to share with you a few photos of a place that is located in the far north end of Paris. It doesn’t come immediately to mind when you think of the City of Lights but I believe it can be rightly added to its list of romantic spots!

Yes, you read it right! I said romantic and that’s because I’m not referring to the entire Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie - the impressive glass and steel building you can see here below...


But to a part that is located within one of the exhibitions and understandably I don’t have photos of: the Planetarium.

What’s more romantic than traveling through systems and galaxies of the universe?

GeeGee: Paris reminiscing

I went to Paris when I was 19 and I didn’t have a digital camera, nor any idea whether I even had my film developed unfortunately, but I have some strong memories.

One of the places that struck me the most was the Pompidou Museum, precisely as the architects intended. I have a love of lines and wow, this works well! My dream drawing would be a selection of scaffolding and cranes, so, despite the comment that this could well be a building site, I loved it.

The artwork inside was pretty stunning too of course! Rhianne, enjoy your discoveries, I can’t wait to see all the photographs you take!

Nicola: Paris through film...

Earlier this year I had a whirlwind 24h trip to Paris. With one mission: to take as many photos as possible and look at Paris in a different way*. Taking iconic landmarks and putting my spin on them, these are the results.


I have to admit I am quite addicted to cameras, so I lugged about 10* with me everywhere I went, with lots of different film so It wasn't easy. My favourite cameras from the trip: LC-A+, Holga and the Horizon Kompakt.


I was a bit miffed that we had walked miles to get to the Eiffel Tower on our second day, only for it to pour down as we got there, but I'm actually quite pleased it did, I wouldn't have got this reflection otherwise!

Megan: Paris in a Day

Hey! It's Megan here from Time After Tea.

In 2009 I spent a whirlwind 24 hours in Paris. Even though I wasn’t there for very long it was definitely enough time to fall in love with the city and get to do a lot of the things I had hoped to do. I plan to head back one day and stay for longer but if like me you go to Paris with not much time here are a few little tips to make the most of it.

- Walk as much as you can. We walked from Notre Dame along the Seine, up the Champs – Elysees and finished at the Eiffel Tower. It was the perfect way to see the city in a day and really be able to take in all the sights and sounds. There are lovely little stalls along the Seine and food vendors along the parks which are all little bits and pieces you miss on public transport.

- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There is a stereotype that French people are rude to tourists but it is just that a stereotype. Learn enough basic French to say “Hello, how are you? Do you speak English?” it can come across as rude assuming people speak English without first trying to address them in French, this worked for me.

- I had no intention of going up the Eiffel Tower but decided to at the last minute despite the line and the short amount of time we had and I absolutely do not regret it. If you are pressed for time this is definitely the one thing you must do – it is breathtaking.

- Eat in a backstreet. We managed to get lost and at the same time realised we were starving it was a great mistake to make as we stumbled upon a little family run French restaurant, beautiful food, authentic service and a good price.

- Be flexible. Travelling is all about adventure, having a short amount of time usually means you have a list of things or a schedule for the day you want to complete, if things go of course just go with it, the city obviously as other plans for you.

I'm so excited!!!!

Can you believe it's the 24th of August already?! I've had all month to put together a 'Packing for Paris' post and I completely failed to do it, haha, oh well. Honestly, I was enjoying the August Break too much... have you enjoyed it? I did snap this one picture of my hand luggage, there are 7 cameras and one massive pouch of film in there... (you can just you see them all and the fuji instax film, eep) Also that bag on top? My bargain find of the month, £2.50 in a charity shop, its beautiful.

Anyway, today is Wednesday!! Which means tomorrow is Thursday and we're going to Paris!!! I'm so excited, I can't stop using exclamation points or babbling and I can't really type or concentrate properly... I'm also a little nervous, but thats to be expected really.

We've a few things planned but not a lot and I think we're going to try and take it as easy as possible but honestly I can't wait to be taking photos all day :) happy happy.

p.s. I'll miss you, we'll have the internet, so I'll try and tweet updates but I doubt I'll catch up on many blogs, you'll let me know if something exciting happens right...

Actiontracker on the beach...

I always thought this camera would be better for more exciting and involved scenes but it actually captures the beauty and quietness of the beach in these photos really well... I feel more relaxed just looking at these.
