Gadchick Issue 2!

Today is a very exciting day!

Today is the day that not only can I call myself a blogger, designer, cad monkey and photographer... but I can also call myself a Freelance Writer!! Um, WOW!

I've written a short post for Gadchick before, but recently Diana contacted me about writing a Gadchick Ebook for Android Photographers, testing and reviewing a variety of Android apps, and Gadchick Issue 2 contains an excerpt of that Ebook, the Ebook that I wrote, haha!!

Issue 2 of Gadchick is all about photography and contains other brilliant articles by the amazing people you see above including Meg, Chelsea, Diana and Aline, who I just love. So if you love photography, whether its digital, analogue or with your mobile then
check it out, you won't be disappointed!!

I'd like to quickly thank Diana, Aline and Scott from Gadchick for thinking of me to do this and believing in me, I never imagined when I started blogging that this would ever be something that I would do (um, I wrote an ebook...) or that I would be part of such a great team.
I am tickled (hello kitty) pink!!

p.s. Dear android photographers, the ebook isn't available quite yet, but it will be soon and of course I'll let you know when it is. There are some pretty amazing apps available on Android at the moment and the book also contains tips from me, so it will be worth the wait, I promise.

Much Love Monday!

It's been such a long time since I took part in Much Love Monday on Much Love, I'd forgotten how much I love it!

Did you see Katrina from Pugly Pixel's camera collection last week? And all the resulting links to camera collections...? Wow!! I am in camera heaven!

I actually meant to start taking pictures of my cameras over the weekend to put together a camera collection post of my own (Katrina's right, I seem to have gathered together alot of cameras...) but I got distracted charity shop shopping and wanted to share my latest camera find with you first....

ohhhh, it folds... and its metal...

... and it sharpens pencils!!

Did I fool you? Probably not... but it was fun trying... It's already made friends with my cute Diana keyring and now its sat happily at my work desk with its new sheep friend!
(although I haven't actually sharpened a pencil with it yet...)

Hurray for cameras, I love them! Best 79p I spent all weekend!

Which camera would you take to Paris?

I read an article that someone retweeted on Twitter the other day about how it's not the camera that takes an amazing photo but the photographer and I thought it was quite fitting for this post.

Whilst I have all of these cameras (and I love them all), I wouldn't be able to produce these myself and I love that each set shows the photographer's individuality and flare in spite of the location and the cameras they have used...

Who really wants to go to Paris now? I do!
Such gorgeous photos!!

p.s. I would obviously take as many cameras as I could carry lol, Poland is going to be fun camera wise!

Lomography Article...

Wow, I have been busy haven't I?

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Lomography (they contacted me!) to write an article about 35mm and my experience with Lomography cameras and of course I said yes. Looking back through my blog for inspiration I stumbled on a Questions and Answers post that I did last year and I remembered answering one particular question from Diana that I loved...

So for an expansion of the answer to the question:
35mm Film - Why Did I Ever Stop?
and to see some more of my favourite photos taken with my holga 135bc and my diana mini...

Photos, film and the Photoswap!

This past weekend was rather photo orientated and I loved it!

First I finally put up my own lomography wall. I have had those clips for 4 years and I didn't realise they were lomography ones until now - I love finding out things like that and I love how it turned out!
(though sorry about the rubbish photo...)

Then Boyfriend took his film for the photoswap using Helga (the holga) whilst I walked around with Deedee (the diana mini). Watching him take photos was so much fun, he sees completely different photos in places than I do, that and he is cute!

Unfortunately the first film from my Diana was totally ruined - it completely split in half whilst I was winding it back on. I'm devestated as I took some pretty pictures in Whitby with it - I'm hoping somewhere will try and look at the half of the film still left...

and finally today is the deadline of the photoswap! (I shamelessly stole this photo from Micaela's blog of her with her photoswap camera - isn't it great!) I am so excited about seeing everyone's results and putting all the photos together!

Our City Lights 2010 Calender...

I have a confession... I love Diana's shop. In fact I completely adore it...

When Diana tweeted about her 60th sale - I was there!

When Diana said she had only two calenders available - I couldn't get onto Etsy fast enough!!

But luckily for you Diana is now taking orders for more of her beautiful 2010 calenders where you can choose the pictures to put in it.
if you want one because more than likely I will be showing mine off on here
when it arrives and I don't want you to miss out!
