Two exciting new shops!!

It's not very often that I blog about online shops, after permenantly putting my Etsy shop on hold, I haven't had the enthusiasm for Etsy that I used too. However, yesterday I got very excited about online shopping indeed as two of my lovely UK blog friends Elizabeth and Zoe opened their shops and now I am very excited to share them with you!

First up is Elizabeth's new shop Three Jelly Moulds and a Wardrobe...

If you follow Elizabeth's blog or Twitter then you know that she has been putting her shop together for a while hunting out the perfect pieces for it and I must say, her finds really are lovely.

With a combination of vintage and retro pieces and categories such as Kitchen, Fashion, Photography and also a great £10 and under section, this vintage shop has a huge selection of delightful pieces at great prices.

Next is Zoe's new shop, Ladybird Likes...
You may recognise this shop from my last Christmas giveaway. I was very excited about Zoe's shop then and now that it's open, I am just as excited about it now.

Like Elizabeth's shop, Zoe's shop combines a lot of my favourite things - cameras, brooches, birds, dogs(!!) and photography. With beautiful necklaces, stationary, photos and postcards and a huge variety of brooches, Ladybird Likes is a fun little shop, perfect for gifts, either for your friends or just for yourself.

Having had a shop once myself, I completely understand the time and effort it takes to put one together and to show your work well. Both Elizabeth and Zoe's shops look wonderful, have amazing pieces and they are both a true testiment to their hard work and skills and
both are definitely worth a look around, enjoy!

Hurray, it's Friday!

{a couple of double exposures from Bolton Abbey I never got round to posting}

This week has been so exciting, I have absolutely loved celebrating my holga and I'm still incredibly excited about the giveaway, the response has been amazing! There's still a week to enter as well, hurray!

We have so many busy weekends coming up but this weekend I plan to take some photos for the swap (with helga of course), go for lunch on saturday, breakfast on sunday and hopefully start some premature packing for our impending move. It should be a busy weekend I think, I can't wait.

To finish off celebrating my holga week, here are some amazing holga related links for the weekend!

(an amazing holga blog, check out her links page for more holga resources)
(I'm not sure - I would want a small viewfinder)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thank goodness its Friday!

Honestly, I've never been so glad... the week did not start well and it went down hill from there. We don't have much planned this weekend other than the football, I'm oddly excited about it this year...

I completely missed Lauren's fill in the blanks last week so I decided to do them this week, here goes!

1. My dream vacation would be travelling around Europe and visiting everywhere. I want to see everything.
2. The best trip I've ever taken was Edinburgh. It was our first trip together away somewhere amazing and I want to go back!
3. The most important items to take on a road trip are I mostly agree with Lauren – good music, snacks and plenty of water.
4. The next trip I'm looking forward to is KRAKOW!!!
5. If I had to pick one CD to listen to for a long road trip it would be probably one of the ones that Thomas made me.
6. The biggest disaster I've ever encountered while traveling was we were in a bus crash at school, it wasn’t really that bad though, I haven’t had many travelling disasters luckily.
7. My favorite traveling memory is always going to be travelling to my Grandparents at Christmas when we were younger, we used to have a competition of who would see the most houses with Christmas lights. I always loved Christmas at my Grandparents.

And here are some amazing links from this week.
  1. Kat's thursday treats - honestly every link is a gem - especially the yellow and the balloons. Happy sigh.
  2. Some rather amazing black and white photos
Is anyone doing anything excited this weekend? I can live vicariously through you :)

Happy weekend!

  3. A post about cameras - because I will never get bored of them.
  4. I really really want to go to Brighton!
  5. Some rather pretty illustrations.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hurray for Friday's...

I love Friday's - every week I see some amazing things and I can't wait to share but first...

{Fill in the Blanks Friday inspired by the lovely Lauren!}
Todays theme - fashion

1. One fashion trend I really regret is honestly, none, even though I do cringe a bit at my bright orange jeans I used to wear, I seriously loved those jeans when I had them and part of me wishes I had as much bravery to wear them now as I did back then.

2. The one thing that always completes any outfit is a cardigan, I have so many and they are so versatile.

3. I would describe my personal style as autumnal… I tend to wear rich colours, no pinks or pastels for me… and I love cardi’s, scarves and layers – I think autumnal is the perfect word for it :)

4. My fashion muse is um… perhaps Emma Watson, she always looks lovely – most fashion icons seem to be tiny though with no curves which I find quite hard to be inspired by… I need a curvy muse!

5. If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be... do bags count?? I would love a bright yellow mulberry bag please.

6. I would love to raid the wardrobe of anyone... it would someone who has a lot of cardigans and mulberry bags :)

7. Today I am wearing my fave jeans, a black shirt type thing which has cute buttons (with short sleeves, its sunny!) and my little black pointy flats.

and here are some amazing links for a sunny day :)

  1. Diana shared an amazing website on her blog today - you have to check it out - the quotes on the right hand side are perfect - I'm up to page 15
  2. A post dedicated to cardigans, hurray!
  3. I am totally in love with this woman...
  4. this is one of those blogs I wish I had thought of.
  5. I really want a label maker! Especially these ones...

    Happy weekend!!

Dear Friday's...

I have missed you!
I've missed the routine...
I've missed the blanks...
and I've really missed sharing links...
its been too long and I want my blog back!

{inspired as always by the lovely lauren}

1. The very best thing about the summer is beer gardens… I have no idea what this says about me but I love going to a pub and sitting with friends having a nice cool drink and chatting about everything… it isn’t even warm enough for that here yet though… boo.

2. My first crush ever was Taylor Hanson – can you believe he’s married with like 4 kids now?? He’s still dishy I must admit but he’s a bit skinny for me now – I saw Hanson a couple of years ago when we were living in London and he was sporting the skinniest jeans I’ve ever seen… ever.

3. This may sound really silly but… I was really loving the idea of decorating a house and buying things for it that I knew would stay there for a while… I might be avoiding design blog’s at the moment whilst I get over it.

4. I squeeze my toothpaste from the bottom but Thomas squeezes from the top – it annoys me.

5. My absolute favourite "comfort food" is – I have no idea anymore – before we gave up sugar it would have been chocolate or cookies but my taste buds are totally different now… I’m going to go with Chilli – I really love that at the moment…

6. A random fact about me is that I am really not that cool... I don’t think I ever have been…

7. The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is my phone.

And here are some amazing links for you, I added a few extras as its been a while - hurray!

  1. A rather amazing engagement photo shoot - I wish I had thought of it!
  2. Gorgeous Diana photos of dogs - I need a dog.
  3. I love Seinfeld!! (believe it or not... I'm not home...)
  4. I wish what was in my bag looked like this...
  5. I love art and this cake is amazing!
  6. A happy yellow montage with a great quote

Oh and I nearly forgot, giveaway winners!

First a massive thank you to all of the lovely shops involved, they really are amazing and if you have a chance please look around them again. Second, thank you for all your great comments, I had so much fun reading through them and I loved seeing what people's favourites were.

It's Friday and I'm blogging...

...this makes me incredibly happy!

(Inspired by the lovely Lauren at The Little Things We Do!)

It feels like ages since I blogged on a Friday, so here is a bumber edition of Lauren's fill in the blanks Friday from both this week and last week, hurray!

1. The first thing I do in the morning is hug Thomas and then go back to sleep whilst he gets up and potters around – I’m rubbish at getting up in the morning, I stay in bed as long as I can get away with.

2. Every night before bed I have to check the front door is locked at least 3 times…

3. My favorite thing to do when I'm having a bad day is cook. I’ve really started to enjoy cooking all of our food from scratch and its so therapeutic as well.

4. Something that makes me cringe is embarrassing humour. I can’t watch the office or meet the parents or anything like that… its just too embarrassing for me. I’ve only just started to appreciate Curb your Enthusiasm…

5. Social situations are my favourite, I’ve never been shy and I love to meet new people and chat.

6. I like to collect cameras… hurray!

7. Weekends are for relaxing – at least this weekend will be, I’m determined!

and...

1. The strangest thing I've ever eaten was um, I don’t know to be honest... 2011 edit: Snail! Snail is strange.

2. My best friend is friends are my favourite people in the world – I’d be totally lost without them.

3. If I could live in a different era it would be the future because I’m excited about the possibilities, I obviously watched far too much star trek when I was little!

4. I like cats but I love puppies… I’m working on it…

5. If you only know one thing about me it should be I’m overly emotional when it comes to people and things I love.

6. My favorite book of all time is The Pawn of Propehercy by David Eddings – it opened my eyes to a science fiction and fantasy world and I haven’t looked back since.

7. The one beauty product I couldn't live without is concealer.

8. Blogging is my favourite pastime, its my little haven where I have the greatest blog friends, so much creative inspiration and I love it. Especially now my reader is organised and I can keep up with all your amazing blogs – I’m comment happy, hurray!

9. If I could star in a movie with any actor/actress I would want to work with Elizabeth Taylor when she was younger… she was absolutely stunning and had such presense.

10. One of the best feelings in the world is being happy with yourself… its such a tough place to reach and I don’t feel it everyday but when I do, it’s the best.

and just to complete my Friday here are some fabulous links that I've been saving up!
I love blogging :)

1. After yesterday's tape excitement I am loving all tape inspiration!
2. After yesterday's polaroid excitement, I am loving all polaroid's too!
3. Especially this polaroid engagement story, happy sigh
4. The only 'Keep Calm and...' poster I have ever really really wanted... I love it.
5. Some amazing 'things I love about spring' lists from Miss James and Janel.
and
6. Some amazing yellow love sent to me by Cassie.
Thanks Cassie, you made my day!!

Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!

p.s. if anyone else sees any yellow links that I may have missed send them my way, I love them!

Blanks, links and yellooooow!

This morning I woke up thinking it was Saturday and I'll be honest - I sulked all the way to work that it wasn't - but now I'm so glad its Friday - I love filling out the blanks, sharing some amazing links and encouraging my own obsession with yellow (its bordering on a problem surely..?)

I'm also emailing my favourite girly's, looking forward to my yummy lunch, planning my outfit for tomorrow (which is rare for me lol) and trying not to reblog the amazing cuteness that are puppy photos on Tumblr (eep, too cute!)

( Fill in the Blanks Friday - Inspired, as ever, by the lovely Lauren)
  1. Today I am wearing my usual: jeans, little black vest, dark grey cardigan and pointy flat pumps (it tends to be the colours that vary...)
  2. My favorite childhood food was my Mum and my Nan's roast dinners and my favorite food now is roast vegetable risotto - I love roast veg and any risotto really - but together... yum!
  3. A day that I am too busy to do a blog post is a day that I (really) am too busy.
  4. The last movie I saw was Zombieland - we're still quoting from it, haha and the next movie I want to see is Kick Ass (totally agree with Lauren there) and Ponyo - why haven't I seen that yet?!
  5. My favorite smell is roast vegetables because it means I'm about to eat some...
  6. A weird little quirk I have is I like to do everything in round numbers - if I have to decide on a number it usually ends in an 0 or 5...
  7. When I take personality quizzes they always say I'm exactly how I am - how do they do that??

And here are some amazing links for you from my browsing this week - I've really fell in love with blogging again today - I found some great new blogs and I've been slowly sorting my blogroll out and reminding myself of blogs that I still love - hurray for blogging!
  1. Make your own mozerella cheese?! I need to do this!
  2. This is one of those ideas that I wish I had thought of: blogging around the world. Enjoy.
  3. My all time favourite outfit is in this perfect yellow post - can you guess which one it is?
I am super excited about this weekend - so far our plans are: a beer festival, yummy curry round our friends, baking, sleeping and making a serious dent in Mass Effect 2!

Have a great (and hopefully sunny) weekend!

p.s. I completely forgot to mention this before but I wrote a guest post for the lovely Chrystal at Geez Louise about my ideal home - if you're interested then click here .

Things I've learnt from blogs this week...

I've tried to start writing about 3 different posts today and each time I've just stared at the (seemingly bigger and bigger) white box with nothing... gah, how frustrating! I blame the freezing weather - my feet are permanently ice blocks, I have another cold coming on, my hair is a mess and I am so behind on my reader its a little bit scary...

So here are some older links that I never got round to using to distract me from the cold and cheer me up!

Thing's I've learnt from blogs this week...

Eep, I know that I promised to answer the questions from the awards today but my head feels like it is about to EXPLODE! I've had a dull headache all week but today its a killer and my neck hurts too... I think I might cry if it doesn't go soon :/ and the lunch I brought with me today looks so unappealing as well - sob.

Anyway, I promise I'll answer the questions on Monday for you - when I'm feeling less pathetic/ill/melodramatic. I'll have all weekend to think up some good answers as well that way!

I hope you have all have fantastic weekends - I'm going clothes shopping tomorrow (headache permitting) in an attempt to find a christmas dress - wish me luck!
